La Gonâve Haiti Partnership

I have discovered that there is actually a La Gonâve Haiti Partnership that has been active on the island since 1989.  The 10 Episcopal Churches on the island joined with the People-Based Community Health and Development Project, an ecumenical partnership based in Atlanta, Georgia. The group serves 50,000 Haitians on La Gonâve under the administration of Pere Soner Alexandre, and they focus on Education, Healthcare, Nutrition, Agriculture, Water, and Economic Opportunity. You can read past mission reports and an upcoming schedule on their website, www.lagonavepartners.org/.  They also publish a fantastic newsletter, also available on their website. Their most recent one, focusing on the Jan. 12 earthquake, includes a touching message from a member of their team who was in Haiti during the earthquake. It is very exciting to see collaboration between the Episcopal Church in Haiti and many different folks back in the U.S.
